Upgrade complete
At first, I was hesitant about upgrading my WordPress install to the latest release (2.0). I joined the developers mailing list for WP a while back and I’ve seen all the problems that the 2.0 release has had through the beta test. There are still a few bugs but I decided to bite the bullet and update. So far, so good.
One big change I did make was to remove the AuthImage plugin. WP 2.0 comes with Akismet and it is very effective at combatting comment/trackback spam. You must sign up for a WordPress.com account in order to get the API key needed to activate the Akismet plugin. So, you are no longer going to have to enter a validation word in order to leave a comment.
I was glad to see that the Acronym Replacer and the WP Grins plugins worked without having to make any changes. I know they aren’t amazing plugins but I like them.
Let me know if you come across something weird. One thing that I’ve found a little odd is the editor used to create the post. It seems to be a little slow to react when typing. I decided to turn off the visual rich editor via the Profile link (WP admin panel). Now, it is the same editor that 1.5.x had and it is more responsive. Not as pretty but I like it.

I’ve always wondered, Where do you get the quotes at the end of each post?
The Internet.
I just search for quotes and try to get ones that may pertain to what I’ve written about (i.e. change, persistence, etc.).
