Sounds awfully familiar doesn’t it?
Despirately so.
Even though it’s a monopolistic kind of move, they seem to have been forced into this one. That’s got to be a good sign.
I wonder at what point did they say “We’re not gaining any ground on the likes of VMWare. What can we do to get it out there a little more?”
I tried it yesterday and installed Ubunut Linux. The install went ok but I had two problems:
1. The Broadcom network card in the workstation didn’t like the Virtual Network driver so a guest OS can’t use the host NIC.
2. Ubuntu didn’t like the 30″ LCD screen.
I can understand #2 but VMWare works fine with the Broadcom NIC so I don’t know what the VS 2005 issue is.
