Telecommuting

I have been working from home for the last couple of days.  Tomorrow is the last day and then I go back into the office on Monday. We have two VPN connections at work, Microsoft and Cisco.  The Microsoft VPN is faster than the Cisco VPN. They’ve been trying to find ways to make the Cisco VPN faster but I think it’s pretty much topped out. The overhead slowing down the Cisco VPN is the higher security (e.g. type of encryption) it uses.

There are good and bad points to working from home. Good in the fact that you can sit around in your underwear or watch TV while you work. Bad in the fact that it’s easy to get distracted. I’ve found myself wanting to work on home projects but having to resist the urge.

The last few days have really crawled by. Not much has been going on so time seems to slow down. I have been handing out business cards when I’m out.  Just trying to drum up some side work. A little extra money is always a good thing.
