It appears that the DNS replication was a little faster than I, and GoDaddy, suspected it would be. Everything appears to be working. Let me know if you come across anything strange. I can tell a difference in speed with the new host (Nexcess). It isn't a huge increase in response time but every little bit helps.

Since I was going to move my files over to the new host, I decided to go ahead and upgrade my WordPress install to 2.0.6. The new version was released a few days ago but I held off until now. I also implemented the Feedburner fix.

I've only got a few days left on my free hosting package with 1and1. They've been a pretty good host, especially taking into consideration that it was completely free for 3 years (promo package).

Today is as good a time as any to start moving my blog. Some weird things may happen while moving it tonight but hopefully it will go smooth. The DNS setting change will take about 24 to 48 hours to replicate.

No more post will be made until the move is complete. I'm backing up the database now so it can be uploaded to the new host.

I’m writing this using the Performancing add-on for Firefox. It’s an add-on that allows you to create a blog post without having to go to your blog site. Performancing supports many different blogging platforms like LiveJournal, Windows Live Spaces, Wordpress and almost all XMLRPC based blogs.
